Re: Six Years from Crying

"Previously released on a cd included with Eddie magazine, December 1993 and Milk This Catalogue, a Universal Music Publishing promotional cd from 1999."

Now that's a rarity!

Re: Lean on Me RIP Bill Withers

Agreed! Withers's career was relatively short — 14 years — but he wrote songs that will be remembered for decades to come.

Re: New Record?

Stinson rocks. I just picked up the Bash and Pop "Anything could happen" CD and it's great. Started checking him out due to this tour and a buddy of mine is going to the upcoming show because he is replacements fan. Totally impressed and not sure how he hasn't came onto my radar before. Bash & Pop'...

Re: New Record?

As the producer of the record I tried really hard to try and serve the songs and " The Lemonheads" . Marciana is there on most of the tracks, but only in a way that I felt enhances the songs. Same for everyone else who played on it. I really enjoyed my first listen yesterday on Spotify. The sequenc...

Here's a review: https://louderthanwar.com/the-lemonheads-varshons-ii-album-review/ "... Varshons II’s predecessor suffered from sprawl –- forays into grubby Eurodance and swampy narcotic rock rubbed awkwardly against songs more suited to the Dando drawl. On round two, the selection is sensible, eac...

Re: New Record?

I’m pretty sure it’s Bandcamp’s f’up. Every other listing says February 8. Yeah, it's a typo. Albums are released worldwide on Fridays now, and February 8 is a Friday this year. January 8 was a Tuesday, the day of the week on which albums were released, at least in the U.S., from April 1989 to June...

Anyway, "finish your paella" is an equally random and obscure reference to a dinner Evan and Murph had at El Quijote, next to the Chelsea Hotel, a few nights before we headed upstate for recording... apparently there was more paella than they could finish over the course of the evening. Not sure ho...

As the producer of the record I tried really hard to try and serve the songs and " The Lemonheads". You're Matthew Cullen? The video and film director, as implied by Fire Records (https://www.firerecords.com/product/the-lemonheads-varshons-2/), or the producer-engineer-musician mentioned here: http...

I've always enjoyed Dando's live covers of "Abandoned." I look forward to hearing his rendition of "Things," from Paul Westerberg's first solo album. 01 Can’t Forget (Yo La Tengo) 02 Settled Down Like Rain (The Jayhawks) 03 Old Man Blank (The Bevis Frond) 04 Things (Paul Westerberg) 05 Speed of the ...

Evan was staying with Johnny that late summer. They would call me at 2 am my time to let me know that they hadn't burned up in the fires that were raging all around LA at the time. Even at 2 am ,I was very glad to hear the news of those two! Twenty-five years later, southern California is still on ...

How they got in the building after 6 PM is another story. If there was a security guard at the front desk, he must not have heard the rumbling eight floors above.

Re: Juliana Hatfield’s Olivia Newton-John covers LP

Great cover -- of "Physical," I mean, but the physical cover of the album isn't bad either. I was in kindergarten when "Physical" and the J. Geils Band's "Centerfold" were hits. I loved hearing them on the radio but had no idea what a centerfold was or why Olivia liked exercising so much. I'm glad t...
